Seoul Botanic Park location, ticket price and opening hours

Seoul Botanic Park

The garden opened in May 2018 and is one of the largest indoor botanical gardens in the world, with three main greenhouse complexes covering a total of 28,000 square meters. The greenhouses are divided into different climate zones, such as tropical, subtropical, and desert, allowing visitors to experience a diverse range of plant life in a single location.

In addition to the greenhouses, the Seoul Botanic Garden also features outdoor gardens, including a Korean traditional garden, a forest garden, and a wetland garden. There are also various facilities and amenities on site, such as a restaurant, a souvenir shop, and an exhibition hall.




1. Location

It is located at Magongnaru Station on Seoul Subway Line 9.


 


2. Opening hours

Mar. ~ Oct. - 09:30 ~ 18:00 (Last entry 17:00)

Nov. ~ Feb. - 09:30 ~ 17:00 (Last entry 16:00)


The hours above is for only the Botanic Gardens and the surrounding forest or lake are open daily.

The Botanic Garden is closed on Mondays.




3. Ticket price

Adult (Age 19 ~ 64) : 5,000 won

Teenager (Age 13 ~ 18) : 3,000 won

Children (Age 6 ~ 12) : 2,000 won


Group price (30 persons or more)

Adult (Age 19 ~ 64) : 3,500 won

Teenager (Age 13 ~ 18) : 2,100 won

Children (Age 6 ~ 12) : 1,400 won



4. Tips

The botanical garden makes you feel better just by walking around, but taking an commentary tour is more helpful. Commentary tours are not held every day, and reservations are required, so be sure to check the date on the website. Unfortunately, it is not possible on the English homepage, but only on the Korean page, so if possible, ask for help from Koreans around you.

Hwadam Botanic Garden

The Hwadam Botanic Garden is home to a range of plant and animal species, and it serves as an important ecological resource for the region. The area is characterized by a hilly terrain, with the highest peak being Mount Hwadam, which stands at 583 meters above sea level.

In addition to its natural beauty, Hwadam Botanic Garden is also a popular destination for tourists, offering a variety of activities such as hiking, camping, and bird watching. The forest is also known for its stunning autumn foliage, which attracts visitors from all over the world.




1. Location

It is located in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do. It is a location that takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Seoul. To be honest, using public transportation takes a long time.


Subway

Get off at Konjiam Station on the Seoul Subway Gyeonggang Line and take a taxi to Konjiam Resort for about 10 minutes and there is free rift to the garden.

It takes about 50 minutes from Gangnam Station to Konjiam Station.

From Gangnam Station, take the Shinbundang Line to Pangyo Station and transfer to the Gyeonggang Line.


Bus

You can choose according to your departure location, and get off at Konjiam Terminal. It usually takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes from the boarding point.

3. Ticket price

Adult (Age 19~64) : 11,000 won

Teenager (Age 12~18) : 9,000 won

Children (Age 24 month~11) : 7,000 won

Senior (Age 65~ ) : 9,000 won




4. Monorail

There is a monorail in Hwadam Botanical Garden, so you can see the whole without walking. Prices are determined by departure and arrival locations.


1. Platform 1 -> Platform 2

Distance : About 40 minutes on foot (5 min. on monorail)

Price : 5,000 won for adult, teenager and senior , 4,000 won for Children


2. Platform 1 -> Platform 3

Distance : About 70 minutes on foot (10 min. on monorail)

Price : 7,000 won for adult, teenager and senior , 6,000 won for Children


3. Platform 1 -> Platform 1 (Round trip)

Distance : About 140 minutes on foot (20 min. on monorail)

Price : 9,000 won for adult, teenager and senior , 7,000 won for Children




5. Tips

Decide whether or not to ride the monorail depending on the weather, decide whether or not to ride the monorail. Don't try to see everything, but if you walk slowly as time permits, your stress will be relieved.
