El Camino de Santiago Packing list ! Don't have trouble with it!

I took this on Camino de santiago

There's a lot of supplies, so... I'm going to focus on what I've been thinking and what I regret after I walked.

First of all, El camino de santiago is different from other trips. you always have to walk with luggage. That's why you need to minimize the weight and throw away the unnecessary items.
By the way, the my baggage weighed less than 10 kg.

It's my opinion of Packing list for camino.

If you have other question, please ask me!

Clothing

It would be nice to walk all the camino as a pair, but since you have to do laundry every day, you need to wear other clothes while drying.
First, I'm going to write down the list that I brought with me.

1. Top : Long sleeve 1, Short sleeve 2
2. Bottom : Long pants 1, Short pants 1
3. Underwear 3, Socks 3, Wind breaker 1
4. Hat, Sandals, Swimming pants

All items were selected for functional dryness, minimizing weight and number.
Functional clothing is considered to be optimal for pilgrimage because if is light and easy dry.

Mountain climbing equipment

It's good to bring along equipment to protect your legs because you have to walk a considerable distance. Basically, you should take your knee pads, ankle pads, and stick with you. Not only do you have to bear the weight of your bag and upper body at all times, but the amount of fatigue you get from your walking style also changes.
I think protection or stick is necessary to prevent this.

Medicines

Spain is also a human home, so you can get them anywhere. But I want to take some in advance.
Of course, when you get blister, you need needle, thread. and also some bandages to use when your joints hurt.
It's a good idea to use vaseline on your feet to prevent blisters before you leave in the morning.

And!! You should know how to use medicines properly, which you take.
When you get blister, leaving the thread between the blisters and letting water in blister flow through that. When all water are out, remove the thread and apply disinfectant to the affected area. I've seen people whose feet swell up because they got infected without disinfection.

If you don't want to catch a cold, you should always eat fruit. When I walked on the northern way, I caught a cold because the food price was too high compared to the France way and I didn't eat fruit. I think you should keep taking vitamins because you're exhausted almost days.

Washing tools and Cosmetics

I took a disposable paper soap and shampoo when I left, but as soon as I got on Camino, I threw them out and bought soap. I'm a man and my personality didn't really care about that. I didn't even take a razor, nor did I shave for two months.
I only put on skin lotion and brought sunblock.
you should take a towel because you have to take a shower every day. I'ts convenient to use a towel in the evening and carry it on your bag in the morning, so you need to carry sports towel which dry fastly. Just single sports towel is enough for camino.
There is a personal difference.... so, It's your choice.

Rain coat and Sleeping bag

If you go to Galicia, the weather is so capricious that you have to see rain. so, rain coat for your body is really necessary and also for the back pack cover. Of course, you can buy on the way.

It's not humid in the summer, so you can sleep in cold weather at night, sometimes. I think sleeping bag is a good idea even in summer. you can determine the thickness of the sleeping bag according to the season, but since I walked in the summer, I used the lightest sleeping bag.

Camera

I regret camera... until now. I thought camera is heavy... so I just went with only cell phones. In fact, in both case taking camera or not, your shoulder and neck feel pain... similarly. For the pilgrim, every moment on camino are enough to remember important.
I think the moment camera need is not at famous tourist attraction. it's walking and meeting new people, or the moment to think myself again.
So, I recommend you take a good camera to keep the moment.

Zipper back

Zipper back seems to be necessary for any journey. Especially, it is more useful for the Camino. If you use a zipper bag, you can pack you baggage more efficiently, and if you get bitten by bed bugs, you can see that the items in the zipper bag are safely stored. You can keep things dry when it rains.

Bed Bug Killer

Bed bug killer is an item that you take as a protection from bed bugs. A lot of people were worried, and I also... bought a bottle of this. To be honest, there have been very few cases using this. At the beginning of the way, I used to sleep with a rain coat on top of bed. but later I didn't do it because I wasn't bothered. I only used rain coat for dirty beds. There were pilgrims bitten by bedbugs sometimes. The choice to take this will be left to the pilgrim.

Other stuff

Multi tap - I recommend you a multi tap without cable, because cable one is uncomfortable in the morning.
Clothspin - Just take some of these! Especially with line is perfect
Personal cup - Not required.
Nail clipper - It's for nail cut, and also sometime is very useful.
Guide book - I guarantee that you will throw it out, If you really need, take guide book in albergue which people throw out. But, you should prepare information on A4 size.

This is all I can think of packing list.
Many be there are more, but you don't need to have any options.
